About Amherst Physical Therapy
Since 2007, Amherst Physical Therapy has helped patients across the Souhegan Valley recover from injury, surgery, and chronic pain with one-on-one treatment built around their goals. We are a locally owned outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine clinic where you see the same therapist, every visit.
Who We Are.
Amherst Physical Therapy is an independent outpatient physical therapy and sports medicine clinic located at Liberty Park on Route 101 in Amherst, New Hampshire. Owner and physical therapist Kurt Bergeron, MSPT, founded the practice in 2007 to offer something larger clinics often can't: care that is both personalized and personable.
Our approach is simple. We put the patient first, and we always start by asking about your goals for recovery — whether that means returning to a high level of competition, getting back to your job without pain, or simply living comfortably again.
We serve patients of all ages from Amherst, Milford, Merrimack, Bedford, Mont Vernon, Hollis, Brookline, Nashua, and the surrounding Greater Amherst area.

MEET KURT BERGERON, MSPT —
Owner & Physical Therapist

Kurt Bergeron earned his degree from the Ithaca College School of Health Sciences and Human Performance in Ithaca, New York. An avid athlete in his youth and still a devoted fan of the area's sports teams, Kurt found the lure of working with the human body hard to resist.
After graduation, Kurt began his career in a large-scale orthopedic outpatient clinic, where he was mentored by a number of top-quality physical therapists before becoming the manager of that facility just a few years later. Through a wide range of continuing education coursework, he developed a strong interest in orthopedic assessment of the foot, shoulder, knee, and spine.
Today, Kurt treats orthopedic injuries using manual therapy and traditional physical therapy modalities, working alongside each patient to restore the highest possible level of function by the end of treatment. He founded Amherst Physical Therapy in 2007 and continues to support area athletes and anyone seeking quality rehabilitation close to home.

Cristy Surette
Physical Therapy Assistant
With over 14 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, I began my career in inpatient rehabilitation following a personal experience that shaped my passion for physical therapy. At 23, I sustained multiple injuries in a motor vehicle accident, giving me firsthand insight into the challenges of recovery and the importance of compassionate, patient-centered care. For the past 12 years, I have specialized in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy, helping patients improve mobility, manage pain, and return to the activities they enjoy.
My clinical interests include vestibular dysfunction and balance impairments, chronic back pain, joint pain, and rehabilitation following total joint replacements. I am certified in vestibular rehabilitation and have pursued education in complex conditions and comorbidities, including hypermobility and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS). I strive to provide individualized care that considers each patient's unique needs and goals. Outside of work, I live in Merrimack with my husband and our two young sons, and I enjoy spending time with my family.
